Is Level Lock Plus worth the premium price?
Right. Smart locks. Awesome when they work. Like, unlocking the door with your phone? Magic. But then... prices. Level Lock Plus? Whoof. Costs way more. Like, standard lock maybe... 300?! My bank account screamed a little. So, like, why? Gotta figure this out. Maybe over coffee. Need coffee.
Installation nightmare. My friend Dave? Tried installing his own smart lock last weekend. Total disaster. Screws everywhere, manual thicker than a novel, ended up calling the guy who fixes his sink. Level lock plus looks... slick? Yeah. Minimalist. But get this: it hides inside the door?! How? Sounds like wizardry. Or a really bad headache waiting to happen. My grandma could probably install a keypad lock blindfolded. This? Not so much. Probably need, like, an engineer. More $$$. Ugh. Do I look rich?
Features! Okay, basic stuff: App unlock, keypad maybe, fingerprint reader if you splurge on the regular mid-tier. But Level Lock Plus? It does... HomeKey? Tap your iPhone or Apple Watch? Pretty cool, gotta admit. Feels kinda spy movie. Automations too? "Hey Siri, unlock for pizza guy" ... works... sometimes? If Wi-Fi behaves. Which it hates me. Also Z-Wave whatever? Sounds fancy. Not sure I care. But the fingerprint unlock? Okay, YES. Picture it: Rain pouring, arms full of grocery bags (milk leaking...), phone dead. Fumbling for keys? Nope. Fingerprint. Lifesaver. Level lock plus has that. BUT... is their fingerprint reader better? Faster? Less likely to reject you like a bad date? Mine hates my left thumb after dishes, dunno why. Maybe level lock plus is nicer? Or same? No clue.
Necessary? My old deadbolt has like... zero tech. Just a key. Rusty. But it WORKS. Always. No batteries, no "connecting...". Simpler is... reliable? Maybe? The core thing – unlock from phone – you can get way cheaper. Why level lock plus for THAT?
Batter life. Important! Nobody wants lockouts. Level lock plus says "years" on a coin cell. YEARS? My TV remote eats batteries like candy. Sounds... suspiciously optimistic. Like "diet starts Monday" optimistic. Bet it needs swapping way sooner than that. Batteries ain't free, folks!
What about alternatives? The Schlage thing or that Yale one... cheaper usually. Maybe not as pretty inside the door, but hey, they lock. Maybe fingerprint reader less cool? Who knows. This stuff confuses me honestly.
Is it worth paying... what, nearly double? For Level Lock Plus? Here's the thing:

Is it worth paying... what, nearly double? For Level Lock Plus? Here's the thing:
- Got Apple gadgets AND hate keys? Like, REALLY hate keys? Yeah, maybe. That HomeKey thing is neat. Fingerprint unlock is a real perk when it works. That smooth inside-door look? Chef's kiss. IF you got the dolalrs. Level lock plus fits that niche.
- Just want a key backup/remote lock? Save yourself a car payment. Seriously. Lots of locks do that fine. Not always prettttttty, but functional. Why overspend on level lock plus bells & whistles you'll maybe use twice? Grandma doesn't need HomeKey to bring cookies over. A keypad is fine.
- Installation fears? Oh man. Factor in pro install cost FOR SURE with level lock plus. That "inside door" magic comes with potential tears. Unless you're Dave the DIY god (which, let's be real, I'm not).
